The report on domestic revenue collection for January and the mission plan for February 2025 from the Long An Tax Department indicates that in January 2025, the department collected 3,261.7 billion VND, reaching 16.4% of the estimated target, which is 76% compared to the same period in 2024. This is a positive result given the ongoing challenges in budget revenue collection.
Based on the achievements in January 2025, and in order to strive for better budget collection results in February, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thủy, Director of the Long An Tax Department, stated that the Tax Department would ensure the full and effective implementation of all tax management functions, including tax declaration and payment by taxpayers, as well as continuously monitoring new registrations and business suspensions. The department will also strengthen the management of households to prevent revenue loss concerning subjects and turnover.
In addition, the department will continue to improve the effectiveness of tax inspection and auditing, closely monitor anti-fraud measures in VAT refund procedures, and develop new inspection and auditing topics, focusing on quality audits to prevent transfer pricing. The department will also enhance tax management regarding electronic invoices for gasoline and oil, as well as continue to monitor and apply coercive measures for tax debt recovery according to the debt management and recovery process.
The Long An Tax Department will further promote the dissemination of tax policies, particularly new tax policies, amendments, and supplements that came into effect on January 1, 2025, regarding the management and use of electronic invoices, electronic invoices created from cash registers, as well as penalties and legal consequences for violations related to invoices.
Additionally, the department will focus on guiding organizations and individuals in fulfilling their tax, fee, and levy obligations in accordance with regulations; providing guidance on installing and using the eTax Mobile app for business households and individuals; and effectively utilizing the information available on the “Business Household Digital Map” feature of the eTax Mobile app.
To further improve tax management efficiency in the new context, the Long An Tax Department will strengthen training and enhance the professional knowledge of its staff, accelerate the digitization of tax management tasks, allocate resources effectively, and ensure good implementation of anti-corruption, cost-saving, and anti-waste practices.
